Sandbags for Municipalities & Emergency Management in Calgary

How municipalities teams in Calgary use sandbags

When a flood watch turns into a warning, municipalities and emergency management teams need bags staged before residents start asking for them. Sandbag.ca supplies empty bags by the bale for municipal sand-pile filling stations, filled bags and bulk totes for critical infrastructure, and coloured bags for marking hazards. Tell us your depot locations and quantities, and we quote supply for the season ahead.

Calgary had a population of 1,306,784 in the 2021 Census. In Alberta, late spring and early summer bring mountain snowmelt and heavy rain on the Bow, Elbow, Red Deer and North Saskatchewan watersheds, which is when flood sandbags sell out fastest.
